Community Work

One of the important parts of our guild is giving back to the community. This includes our comfort quilt projects.

COMFORT QUILTS

We are very fortunate to receive fabric donations from our guild members and members of our community who hear about what we do. These fabrics are used by our volunteer quilters to make comfort quilts which are then donated to local charities and organizations.

Sit ‘n’ Sew days are an opportunity for our volunteers to gather to work on quilts together. These days are scheduled twice each month, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at Maryvale. Doors open at 8 am and generally the day wraps up around 2 pm. Maryvale graciously offers their community room for our use.

Currently we are donating to:
  • Berkshire Care Centre
  • Karis Disability Service
  • Banwell Gardens
  • Matthew House
  • Building Blocks for Better Babies/Divine Mercy
  • Children’s Aid
  • Child Can
  • Windsor Regional Hospital
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Angela Rose House
  • Windsor Essex Children Youth Advocacy Center
In the past we have donated to:

Windsor Quilters’ Guild Community Outreach

Through this program our guild has donated not only quilts but placemats, pillowcases, incubator pads, Beads of Courage bags and butterfly bags for parents of infants who have passed away.
If you know of any local organization that could benefit from a comfort quilt, please contact us.
