Included in these 28 were a few donations from friends of our guild but most of these quilts were completed and turned in by the faithful quilters who make quilts regularly to be given away. A good number of quilts were turned in today at Maryvale, thirty-eight in all, along with a bunch of placemats. We are so grateful for all the donations and the work that goes into making these quilts.
The quilters at Sit 'n' Sew continue to churn out quilts (16 today) and the need especially for children's quilts continues to grow. We also receive quilt donations from guild members and non-members. Some donate a quilt top, some donate a complete quilt. Some sew the quilt top and others quilt them. And some do …
There were 26 quilts turned in today at Maryvale. We have started to collect placemats for our yearly donation to Meals on Wheels.
Our guild's Comfort Quilts committee hosts a Sit 'n' Sew every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at Maryvale in west Windsor. Today a number of volunteers gathered to work on comfort quilts. Our last Sit 'n' Sew for 2025 was today. There were 15 quilts turned in (see below). Mary reported that we made 540 Comfort Quilts in 2025 and most of them have been distributed. Only a handful remain at Maryvale and will be donated in 2026. Our next Sit 'n' Sew is January 13, 2026 …
