Oct 14th: Floral appliqué by Yvette Sullivan

Fee $80.00 Deadline for payment Sept 16th
This beginner friendly workshop will include working with fusible interfacing, fabric and thread choice, free motion quilting and thread painting. Participants will use a template to construct a 14x 14” dahlia. Price includes a kit of fabrics for flower petals, leaves and a dahlia template. Required: Free motion quilting foot or machine with free motion capability.

Nov 5th: Walking Foot Straight Line Quilting by Adrian Hansen-Kelly

Fee $80.00 Deadline for payment Oct 7th
If you can sew a straight line and pivot then you will be amazed as you create 8 different quilting designs. You will produce a 12 x 12” sampler. Walking foot or dual
feed foot required.

Dec 3rd: Make Your Own Sneakers by Michelle Scott and Ann Tanner.

Fee $160.00 Deadline for payment Oct 1st
The fee includes a kit for making a pair of sneakers. You need to supply your own fabric (about 2 fat quarters).

Jan 7th: Wanderer’s Wife Quilt, a Jen Kingwell Design, by Julie Isherwood.

Fee $70.00 Deadline for payment Dec 16th
Instruction will take place over two workshops.
Formerly known as Gypsy Wife, this pattern measures 59 x 68” with instructions for an optional border to increase the size. Part 1 – intro and sewing of blocks. Participants will have 3 months to complete the blocks in preparation for Part 2, in April. NOTE: You are advised to purchase this pattern as soon as possible as it is going out of stock.

Feb 4th: Grandmother’s Garden Block – Faux Technique by Donna Jones.

Fee $35.00 Deadline for payment Jan 14th
This traditional English Paper Piecing block is all done by machine. No hand sewing required in creating this Grandmother’s Garden look alike. Different options will be presented for creating runners, centrepieces and different quilt designs. Required: 60 degree equilateral triangle ruler

Mar 4th: Sunshine Cross Body Bag by Marie Lockington

Fee $35. 00 Deadline for payment Feb 10th. Pattern is free online OR pay $27 for a copy. This beginner level pattern will be a great introduction to basic purse making techniques. Marie will have zippers and cork for purchase at the workshop. Free vinyl mesh will also be
available should you choose to use it. Order your FREE 29 page pattern at bagstockdesigns.com, go to the search bar and type in Sunshine Crossbody Bag. Only this particular pattern will be covered in the workshop.

April (date TBA): Part 2: Wanderer’s Wife by Julie Isherwood.

Fee prepaid
Particpants will assemble the quilt top using their premade blocks.

May 6th: Butterfly Bubbles by Kathy Wiley

Fee $110.00 Deadline for payment Apr 7th
Participants will create a beautiful butterfly design using Kathy’s translucent
mesh technique. The fee includes the kit, Turned Edge Holes. No sewing machine required.

June 3rd: Traditional Techniques Meet Improvisation by Ingrid Langhorst

Fee $70.00 Deadline for payment May 5th
Create an improvisational curved and straight line piece, measuring 14-16” square which can them be embellished with stitches, beads, buttons or any notion your creativity can conjure. Start collecting those little bits and bobbles to make your creation your own. Bring
accessories to the workshop we can do a swap and share.

General Workshop Notes

For each workshop, materials lists and homework specifications will be provided to participants before the workshop. All workshops will run from 9:00 – 3:00, with an afternoon break. Doors will open at 8:45 for set up. Bring your own lunch, snacks and beverages. Payment will be accepted up to the stated deadline date, by cash, cheque or e-transfer. Do not combine payments. Please send payment for each workshop by separate transfer. E-transfer to Windsorquiltersguild@gmail.com. It is important to use the Notes section to state the purpose of the payment. There are no refunds. If for some reason you cannot attend you must forfeit payment or find a member to take your place. Fee collection will begin in September. Non-members are welcome to participate and will be charged an additional $10 above the specified fee.

All workshops are scheduled for Maryvale. Parking is limited, access is from College Ave. Please carpool if possible.

We all want a workshop to run smoothly, free of any snags and frustration. You can make that happen by being prepared. It is the responsibility of the participant to bring all necessary materials, and, have all pre-workshop homework completed. Bring a sewing machine that is in good working order and be familiar and confident with how it works. It’s not a bad idea to bring your user manual in case you need to troubleshoot. It is highly recommended that you bring extra filled bobbins, thread, needles, and assorted basic tools you like to use. It is absolutely necessary to have any special rulers or specialty machine feet as specified by some of the workshops. Your efforts to follow instructions and heed the instructor’s requests will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
